Description:The ocean has a remarkable way of quieting the mind. The rhythm of waves, the endless horizon and the salt-laden air invite us to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with ourselves. Blue Space grew from my appreciation of the Sunshine Coast’s beaches and the restorative calm they offer. Inspired by the concept of blue space—the growing recognition that time spent near water can nurture both our mental and physical wellbeing—this painting celebrates the healing relationship between people and place. Layered textures and expressive marks echo the movement of wind, water and dune grasses, while the small figures remind us of our place within the landscape rather than apart from it. This painting encourages you to pause, linger awhile and reflect on your own connection to the coast.
